Paradise, Michigan
In the late 1950’s or early 1960’s two families
came to Paradise from Jackson, MI. They were Leo and Inez
Zantop and Robert and Ione Thompson, with their five children.
Ione wanted her children raised in the Methodist Church.
She approached Inez and asked if she would be willing to
help her start a mission church in Paradise.
Together, they accomplished this and began meeting
in the former Community Building, located on the site of
the present Community Building. Soon, the property was obtained
for our present Church structure. Our Church building was
dedicated in 1962 and continues to serve our community as
God leads.
Currently, the local Lutheran Church meets in our
building on Sunday morning before our service. A few years
ago the local Catholic Church had a fire and, for a time,
their parish met in our church.
As God leads, we go.
